Job Duties
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join the DarTwin project at the University of Antwerp. The successful candidate will:
- Conduct research on Digital Twins, model-driven engineering, computational modelling, and simulation methods
- Develop and apply modelling workflows, simulation pipelines, and data-driven analysis techniques
- Publish and present scientific results in journals and at conferences
- Write a dissertation
- Collaborate with international partners at JKU Linz
- Contribute to the development of software tools and modelling artifacts for Digital Twins
Qualifications
- Required: Diploma/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computational Modelling, Information Technology, or a closely related field
- Strong interest in Digital Twins, modelling, simulation, and software-based system engineering
- Experience with programming (Python, MATLAB, Julia, or similar), data analysis, and modelling/simulation tools is an advantage
- Very good command of English (spoken and written)
- Ability to work independently and as part of an international team
- Strong academic record

The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled. The PhD program typically takes 4 years to complete.
